There are a variety of picnic sites and shelters available at Wheeling Park, depending the needs of your specific event. These include Sonneborn Shelter, Schwertfeger Shelter, the Bandstand and the Memorial Ice Rink.

Sonneborn Shelter can be found in the hilltop area. Ammenities included in the rental package are 30 picnic tables, restrooms, one load of firewood (15 pieces), and use of the kitchen area (stove with four hot plates and a standard upright refrigerator) which features an open window serving area. A large, adjacent field is ideal for team sports, organized games or a play area for children. Maximum seating capacity is 200. Rental hours are from 10:30 AM to 12:00 AM (midnight).

Schwertfeger Shelter is located across from the Stifel Playground. Because of it's central location, Schwertfeger Shelter is the perfect choice for groups wanting to enjoy the many attractions of the park. Seating consists of 20 picnic tables, three 110 (20 amp) electrical outlets, one cleanup sink, restrooms and a fireplace with one load (15 pieces) of firewood. Maximum seating capacity is 200. Rental hours are from 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM (midnight).

The Bandstand is a unique, round-shaped shelter located on the hill overlooking the Stifel Playground and the Good Lake. It provides a central meeting location for groups planning to enjoy the many park attractions. Seating consists of 6 picnic tables, one 110 (20 amp) electrical outlet and restrooms underneath the shelter. Rental hours are from 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM (midnight). Maximum seating capacity is 60.

The Memorial Ice Rink is the perfect venue for larger events. It is available for rental on Saturdays and Sundays during the months when the floor is not set up for ice skating.
